Australia’s HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) has just unveiled a new truck, which is a limited edition model that will wear the ‘RS’ moniker.

The SportsCat RS is available only in Summit White and features a special value package that adds sporty design enhancements such as a gloss black grille, gloss black lower fascia and inserts, gloss black splash trey, red and black decals and a distinctive red and black HSV logo, among others.

Also available, and quite prominent, is the bonnet bulge, while the wheel arch fender flares keep watch over the 18-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels, wrapped in Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports All-Terrain tires.

I've just been looking over the pictures again and it just hit me as to what they could be. We have "Molded splash guards" at the lower rear wheel opening here in the states which is what we used to call mud flaps. I see this has flat pieces of whatever there. Might they be Splash Trey's?

    Meh.

Put a couple of highlights and stickers on an existing product to fool the punters.

Remember when a special edition really meant something?

This is a runout special edition model I believe

MY2020 Colorado may have some new stuff and HSV will want to get rid of old stock before tooling up for new grills and fascia ect

The Sportscat itself has a fair bit of unique to HSV items in it's suspension and brakes ect I think it's pretty right for the market

But overall the Colorado range needs a new engine

I'm talking about a range topper V6 twin turbo diesel like the Amarok and Mercedes X class

Would love anything with more HP though

I think it's supposed to be "splash tray", it's the tray under the engine.

I have a Z71 - coming up to 45,000km and 11 months old. Misses 2 things that annoy me and I'm disappointing HSV don't address - locker (at least the rear!) and 4w disk brakes.

As for this thing, and every other HSV for that matter - if they were serious at aiming for the off road market (Toorak nature strips don't count) then it needs a steel front bar and a winch (plus what I mentioned above).

The off road traction control does a good job in taking the place of a locker

A front bar on this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense there are other options for this
