Sao Paulo 2012: VW Taigun Concept

Volkswagen Taigun concept introduced in Brazil

Lending credibility to previous reports that a crossover smaller than the Tiguan is being planned, Volkswagen has introduced the Taigun concept at the Sao Paulo Motor Show.

Dressed in Seaside Blue, the compact crossover features rugged styling with plastic body cladding, anodized skid plates and 17-inch alloy wheels. Other highlights include a prominent grille, a ventilated hood and bulging fenders. There's also a two-piece tailgate, LED spot lights and hidden rear door handles.

The cabin is relatively sparse but features a clean design with high-contrast trim. Notable items include an infotainment system, dashboard-mounted instrument pods and air vents with integrated climate control knobs. The boot holds 280 liters (9.9 cubic feet) of luggage, but that can be expanded to 987 liters (34.9 cubic feet) when the rear seats are folded down.

Those colors work with those vehicles, especially the yellow.

That thing looks pretty cool, but why a Tiguan anagram for a name?

You mean the Rabbit/Golf/Rabbit/Golf that they can't decide what to call, or the Touareg that nobody knows how to pronounce?

accordign to VW the name Tiguan is actually the names "Tiger" and "Iguana" combined, their logic decieves me, but they even print this in press kits and brochures

Makes me wish GM had given GMC the Granite.

As for the VW, nice looking Tiggermobile.

I like it. It looks sporty and tough. It should pique the interest of the targeted demographic.
