    Geneva 2014: Peugeot 108 (107's replacement)

Peugeot Unveils Cute New 108 City Car
    FEBRUARY 14, 2014
    Carscoops

Being a fan of many things that were right about the current generation of Peugeotís 107 hatch (and rebadged alternatives), I was curious to see where the manufacturer would take the new one in the face of skilled competition, changing design trends and confused customers. Nowadays, every car needs to feel like a smaller version of something bigger, more opulent, more luxurious, and thatís the promise being made through the all-new replacement for the car, the 108.

Just unveiled, it comes in two flavors, though the difference between them is only in the roof Ė itís 80 cm by 76 cm, made of fabric and slides back and forth in the 108 TOP! variant; three- and five-door body styles are available.

Design-wise, youíll immediately be able to spot it as a new Peugeot, if youíve seen any of their latest releases that is, and its headlights look like exactly like smaller versions of the ones used in the new 308 hatch.

The three-door is quite grotesque and redundant, but the five-door is really nice. Good to see it became less generic than the current model. Can't wait to see the interior and the C1.

    Adam, please.

This is okay. I like the 508, this sort of remind me of it in the face. And I love Peugeot's logo. Beyond that, no love for it.

I see no reason looking at the pictures to take this over the long list of other small H/Bs available

I don't agree with your argument. Here in Europe the Toyota Aygo, and it's sisters, Citroen C1, Peugeot are very popular and really established themselves as class leaders when first introduced in 2006. They have been unseated by the new VW UP, however the all new replacements will put them back at the top of the heap in the micro city car bracket. Understand that these cars are extremely cheap to own, get over 60 US MPG, and are very easy to maneuver in tight situations. So in summary, this class is very important in Europe, your views are sadly a bit narrow minded.

He said he doesn't like the looks enough to compel him that he should buy one. This is not narrow-mindedness, this is taste.
