    Geneva 2014: Maserati Alfieri Concept

Maserati Alfieri Concept Previews Brand’s Beautiful Future

With an abundance of exotics and luxury cars making their debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Maserati is holding its own against the competition with its stunning Alfieri concept.

A 2+2 concept car, the Alfieri was built to celebrate the brand’s centenary according to the Italian automaker, but it’s likely also acting as a preview to the next-generation GranTurismo. Of course Maserati won’t say it outright, but it did hint at the idea by stating that the Alfieri concept is a 100-percent functional prototype that “could well be a door to the future of the Trident Marque.” Created at the Maserati Centro Stile in Turin, the Alfieri concept is highlighted by its long, low nose and front grille that is divided vertically into two concave sections. The LED DRLs complement the aggressive headlights that incorporate bi-xenon-LED bulbs.

You don't have to like the Italians owning Chrysler.... but it does have it's upside (potentially). That car is a knock out.

Gorgeous car. We have the beautiful F type from Jag, this from Maserati, MB is producing the good looking GT AMG, Audi has the R8...

It's a shame that Cadillac doesn't have a beautiful and properly done XLR, which could arguable be the best of the bunch if done right. There is a market for these cars and more people are jumping in because it says something about the brand and it creates aspirational appeal. No one has a better business case to produce a sports than Cadillac; the C7 is ready and waiting. Just do it right this time.

I agree with what your suggesting yet gm couldn't see fit to allow the two seat Xlr to be powered by a supercharged corvette engine. The "market research" showed buyers of luxury cars wanted doHC. Which in my opinion shows the flaw inherent in market research data.

The new Maserati, Porsches new 911s and the jaguar f type are impressive vehicles without question.

Sixty eight to over 100 grand coupe market segment is growing.

Very nice. I like the shape and positioning of the headlights; much more attractive than the current offering on the GT and Quattroporte.
