2015 Jeep Renegade: This Is It

A source tells us the image above is of the new baby Jeep, which we know believe is the 2015 Jeep Renegade. The Fiat 500L-based Jeep was supposed to debut at next week's Geneva Motor Show, but someone decided to show it early. What do you think?

It's ugly. Between this and the new Cherokee I'm wondering what has happened since the Grand Cherokee? But I understand why Jeep wants to get into the diminutive end of the market. Hopefully they make it respectable.

For those inclined to laugh at this thing, the real first Jeep (the Bantam reconnaissance car) was amazingly tiny.

the name certainly has history but if this is indeed the real deal then its a mixed bag. While the front end is a love it or hate it affair im leaving my final judgements until the interior and the rear styling are showcased.

If it packs a similar awd system as the cherokee it could be half way respectable. its one of those vehicles you would love if you owned it... getting to that point would be a hard leap for me to make.

I'm not sure how I feel, but I'm leaning towards liking it. The wheels are TINY, though.

It's disgusting. Fiat should leave Jeeps designs alone.

I actually like the new Cherokee as I see it on the road lately. I'm sure this new little mighty mite jeep renegade will sell to the world where fuel efficiency does matter.

I don't buy CUV s so for those that do...good luck.

I do like the new Porsche Macau though starting at 50 large.

I hear that's a sports car in disguise with little off road capability...(which most of us never do anyway)

The Renegade isnt designed for the US but it wlil be sold here as a alternative to the Juke, Soul, ect....and please tell me" what should a "URBAN" B Segment Jeep look like? and dont say a Mini Wrangler.

Allpar is saying that it will have removeable roof panels, and will one of the Cherokees AWD systems (with rear Locking Dif.) the thing is suposed to compete with the Soul/XB and Juke

Any Jeep represents a missing opportunity for GM to keep the Hummer as an off-road specialist. GM should have kept Hummer and made a compact Hummer also.

If you see Jeep sales, its now selling very good and i assume only competitor for jeep is Subaru (even they sell great )

Suzuki seems coming up with a nice one but still its not in North America :

I actually kind of like it. I see the Trail-Rated badge on it... If it is wearing that signage then I would think that it has gone through the paces and is a respectable little machine. Could make for a fun toy for people who would like to go into the woods for light off-roading but don't want to take a $30k+ expensive vehicle with the chance of damaging it.

If anything this an extremely smart move for Jeep to get younger buyers who cannot afford a Wrangler, Cherokee or Grand Cherokee due to the high price point. Lock them in young and keep them for the rest of their lives as they grow up, make more money and then move up the model line with each purchase.
What is happening to the GM that grew up with for these many decades? If I could I would institute a hostile take over and kick the entire board and executives out and fill the positions with creative minds under the age of 35.

Horrid! It looks like every Korean mini-ute from the 1990s. I would consider accepting it if it were from any brand other than Jeep. Then again, I hated the Jeep Cherokee when I first saw it, but its' growing on me. I think what bothers me about the little Renegade is how cheap it looks from the A-pillar back.

Re: Geneva 2014: Jeep Renegade ("The Baby Jeep")

It looks like Fiat made the right call. Using the Fiat Panda for its basis of this new Jeep was definitely the way to go.
The Panda is a hoot to drive off road. The early reports of them using the Fiat 500L would have been a disaster.
Jeep is definitely going to grab some more gobal sales thanks to this little machine. I think it will do lukewarm
sales in the USA -- definitely what I would strictly consider a "chick car."

As for the complaints of it looking "cheap." Well, so does the Panda which this thing appears to based on.
But they sell quite well overseas as well.

I'll pass. It looks like a Nissan Cube with a Jeep grille. I know that Jeep needs a entry level vehicle but this isn't it. Now hurry up and build the Wrangler truck that everyone has been demanding for over a decade.
