2014 Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen New Photos, Interior Revealed

Though the 2014 Volkswagen Golf Variant, or Jetta SportWagen as its sold in the US, has already leaked on the web before its Geneva Motor Show debut, some more photos popped up today revealing the wagon from all angles.

The Jetta SportWagen is just one of many VW Golf variants that will debut in Switzerland this week, joining an all-electric Golf, a plug-in hybrid Golf, the Golf GTD and the classic Golf GTI.

The new photos show off the interior for the first time, looking mostly unchanged from the current generation Jetta SportWagen, save some small tweaks to the center stack and gauge cluster.

I'm sure a lot of you folks will disagree with my opinion but I think this is one sexy looking wagon. At some point in the immediate future I'll need to upgrade/replace my HHR and it is highly likely that the Golf wagon will be my next purchase. I've been waiting for GM to possibly offer the Regal wagon but I'm pretty certain wait for that is hopeless.
Research is what I am doing when I don't know what I am doing.

it is also a PRACTICAL shape wagon as most are turning into fast back designs which cost a lot in interior room

Yep, stylish AND practical!! What a concept! Throw in the TDI engine and you've got quite a combination of frugal, yet fun-to-drive. The Jetta SportWagen has been on my radar for a long time, just haven't had the right circumstances to buy. I was also hoping GM would bring the Regal wagon, but that looks like a no-go.

So far, VW seems to own this market by itself in the US (however small it may be) and with these updates, that position looks even stronger.

so does the Jetta wagon have the jetta nose or the golf nose? I ask as in Canada it is a GOLF estate
I am hoping the Cruze wagon Diesel comes over as the Cruze Diesel appears aimed @ the TDI JETTA so the Estate version appears to be a posable?

    (Sigh)

Nice size. Practical. Manual transmission. Heck, even the color matches my Blue Granite Silverado.

Were that made by General Motors, Ford, or perhaps even Chrysler, it would move to the head of the line for my next car purchase.

It's a nice effort by VW, but I still find the Opel Astra Sport Tourer (come on, we all it's a combi!) much more appealing...

An Astra / Verano / Cruze wagon with a 1.6 to 2.0 SIDI turbo and a traditional 6-speed manual is EXACTLY what I would want!

I would have a really difficult time picking between the Astra combi and the new Golf wagon.

Supposedly the new Golf will be positioned above the domestic Jetta, I could see this coming back to the US as a Golf Sportwagen.

Going back and looking at the new Golf, it appears the Jetta wagon has the same nose as the Golf, which is strikingly similar to the current Jetta sedan, anyway. I see them having no problem marketing this car "as is" as a Jetta or Golf wagon, depending on the market.
