The XJ is starting to grow on me

Okay, what is the skinny on this car? The Jaguar XJ is starting to look really appealing, especially in AWD.
Has Tata ruined the brand? Is there still a lot of Ford componentry in it?
What is the real deal on this.

I would be more of a fan if they would upgrade the interior

The new Jaguar designs have not grown on me.

The Audi A8 is a wonderful car, but I can't help feeling the previous generation was better looking. Imo the A6 is actually better looking than the current A8, which surely can't be helping A8 sales in the U.S.

The 7 series is handsome but lacks any real flair, and the outgoing S-Class is not bad looking but isn't a styling tour de force either. A comparable Lexus is not ugly, but it is a bit of a snooze fest. So as far as I'm concerned in the styling depatment it's the XJ FTW, Not that a couple of tweeks couldn't improve it though. It would be really surprising if we don't see a facelifted XJ range within a year or so, (especially with the new S-class about to debut) to keep it fresh until it's successor surfaces.

Re: The XJ is starting to grow on me

    Thanks for responding, friends.

Lets hit Audi first. Their last really good looking A8 was 2004. I do not like the big grill. I'd opt for the VW Phaeton, anytime.
The A7 has an odd, sloping rear end. The whole rear half has some bad angles.
I saw the '13 XJ interior. I thought it was phenomenal. What i liked about this is that you don't have to go to the "L" to get a big car. Their LWB is almost like a limo. Also, the V6 puts out 340 HP. In AWD, you get a 0 to 60 of 6.1 seconds. Plenty fast in my book.
I built one out. Although the base price is somewhat scary, built out, it isn't so bad. The shaky engine story is a turn off.
How much Ford is still in the car?
