You'll all need to try much harder if you're trying to break VW!

Nobody in their right mind wants to break VW. The "World's Largest Automaker" title is a curse.

With all the Volkswagate/dieselgate happened, I wonder if some folks at the VW board might be relieved and push a "Phew!" when VW will lost the title of World's largest automaker?

I am curious how they came to this conclusion without GM's total production figures. But, If I was a car maker, the 'worlds largest' would be the last thing I would want on my title. World's most profitable, that I can live with.

Today their lineup is not impacted, same cars, etc.. I suspect most don't care about the VW scandal in these days of ISIS, terrorists, crazy shooting sprees, huge car recalls, etc..

However, three big changes will greatly impact their future lineup:

    1) Engines that are no better than anyone else's
    2) Because of #1, the cost of their engines will go up and they'll have less $$ to put into the interior, handling, etc.
    3) Government fines - once VW has to start paying big fine $$ they will have a lot less cash flow to play with to develop new cars. How good will VW be in 10 years using the same chassis, engines, etc?
