Hope the rumours are true and it is cheaper than the current model, its price is in Audi territory.

Out of all the VW products, the Touareg is the only one I would consider.

I don't like the christmas lights that Audi-and apparently VW-use as running lights.

I like the Toerag. It works for the brand, unlike it's Porsche brother.

I don't think its going to fall too much in price. If would be stepping on the toes of the planned NMS-based mid-size crossover if it did.

I don't care too much for the exterior design, however, as a vehicle, I quite like it. I have ridden in quite a few, and found them to be quite nicely appointed.

Wasn't aware they were making a crossover version, will it be a proper SUV or a crossover based on a wagon, like the Audi Crossroad or the Volvo XC70? Because if it's the latter, they could still bring down the price of the Touareg.

crossover SUV to compete against the Highlander and Edge most likely. Wagon based crossovers don't sell well in the USDM and they're not building it in Tennessee to suite european tastes.

Re: Rendering of next waste of money VW Touareg.

I understand the Touareg is so ridiculously expensive because the platform it shares with the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7 is ridiculously expensive.

Supposedly it's also one of the most capable unibody SUVs on the road.

But the current Touareg V8 is 5200 pounds, just a few pounds under the Tahoe but much smaller. If I were to pick between them, I'd rather have a Tahoe hybrid or Tahoe LTZ than a Touareg V8.
