    Nyias: Bmw X6 M

#NYIAS All the photos and information on the 2010 BMW X6 M are embargoed until tomorrow. One website has already started to leak some photos, so we'll play along for now and offer you the same.

If any additional pics or info leaks out before tomorrow, we'll post that stuff too. Otherwise, look for the full story and photos tomorrow at 4:00 PM PDT.

I don't like the gaping holes in the front air dam, but I do like the curving sculptural creases in the lower rear bumper.

I'm slowly starting to see more and more of these on the road.
    It's still a bit "meh."

What a bloated looking car. And yes, as far as I'm concerned, it's a car with a truck front clip swapped on and weird looking ground clearance and SUV dynamics.

How about an M5 wagon with the same engines as this instead?

Ok, i was driving the other and I pulled up to one of the prototypes and turned down the radio. And let me tell you, when this thing took off, it had one nice exhaust note.

If you haven't yet driven an X6, I suggest you do. I've had a considerable amount of seat time in the X6 xDrive50i, and while it is an utterly useless vehicle, it is easy to forgive it once you hit the throttle...I've certainly never driven anything like it.

The X6 M, from all that I have seen and read from the embargo material, is honestly just ridiculous...ridiculously amazing. It will be the closest we are going to come to an M3 SUV/Crossover/Sports Activity Coupe...and I can accept it for it's mass of impracticality and excess considering the numbers it will be putting down.

I haven't spent extensive time in an X6. I have sat in it and driven one around, just to see how it felt. But nothing too long.

I wonder if the X6 M is really an M-car... or merely M-badged.

For me, it's not really a matter of impracticality. It's just the idea of this car existing. It's a German Aztek. It's nice. It's unique. But if it wasn't for the fact that it sits on a modified existing platform, I don't think BMW would be able to make money off this thing.

But BMW being the biggest selling premium marque in the world, can afford to be a bit whimsical in their product line.

Personally, the one M car I would love to see is an M7. Say a 600HP M7.

Knowing BMW, they wouldnt let a M-badged vehicle to be any less than their others.

It will be more than a badge. In fact, I believe it will be the most powerful M car to date. The xDrive50i with it's 400hp has already pulled Ring times close to the E46 M3. So X6 M is going to be a like an Aztek with an LSA.

They certainly have been as of late. Introducing models that attempt to answer the questions that we're not totally sure needed to be answered, or questions that were even asked. I like diversity, so I wont complain.

Because the 7-series just isn't excessive enough in it's offerings

imho some styling just simply has a "best size" it should be applied to...
(conversely the pre-bangled BMW's style worked for All sizes)
...think the X6's would work FINE on a C class sport-suv-thingie

Not sure what youre trying to get across here. All I'm saying is that putting a truck front clip/ground clearance doesn't look right when the rest of the car tries to look like a car. It defeats the purpose.

Just in, 555 hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque from 1500 to 5,650 rpm! From a 4.4 L V8, too. The only downside is that the engine isn't mated to the new M-DCT transmission (Too much torque I guess), and fuel economy is gonna suck on this car, but is 555 hp so who cares?
I wonder how this engine compares to the LSA in the CTS-V?
