This is a shocking surprise!!! It nothing like what we were expecting it to look like. This concept reveals what the S-type replacement will look like. Amazing. The revitalization of Jaguar is in progress.

Naaaaaah. I'm just concerned that Ford's going to mismanage Jaguar's "revolution."

I think they'll do OK, so long as they junk 50% of what this concept is showing.

the XF production vehicle will looks a little more like the Renderring when it debuts this fall. The C-XF was to exaggerate the look, and prepare people for the new design language - it might translate its 4door coupe shape into the new XJ though.

Make it 80%. Drop the "looks like a Iosis concept"/"hello 4-door Aston Martin" roofline/rear, as well as "how the Chinese would do an Aston" taillights, the "did not work on Seat Leon why should on a Jag?" door handle, the "superfast diesel locomotive is not dead" front end with the "my alien Lexoid is angry" lamps, and the "what happened to the old Star Trek set?"/"but we do have the best interior design theme already so why change it?" interior... Oh, and the "but you do know we meant it's a Jag, don't you?" logo has to go too... They can keep 4 wheels and the FR layout I guess and that's it.

Here's an old Buick concept, which, as I learned, was intended to be a way to introduce the VT Holden to the NA, but the plan wasn't carried forward for some reason... ANYWAY, it still looks quite modern, sleek and sporty, and it can't hide that it was meant to look like a Jag, so Jag just needs to tweak it a bit to make it look more modern and voila!

Nice rear capable of housing solid trunk space, the taillights just need to be changed from Buickish/Auroraish to Jaguarish

Note to Bibianna - why the S-Type didn't work was due to, among others, the weird front end inspired by the S-Type that does not work on a modern car and an interior that did not like like a Jag should. Don't repeat the same mistakes!

    ^^Bravada ...

The C-XF REALLY IT NOT THE XF preview ...

IT IS NOT ... Jag itself said, that the profile will be compeltely different with higher roofline. If such a CORE element is idfferent, why do you think, details like doorhandles will stay (actually the doorhandles will be traditional as well- also confirmed by Jaguar).

And I do not se all your complaints over this - the concept is stunning - it is not clearly Jag looking - and that is controversial - but it is a stunning vehicle.

Jag cannot linger in the past with the stuffy traditionalism and legacy of poor reliability, poor quality, and lack of excitement for the past 20 years.. they needa a clear break from that past, into a new page of their history.

I will not continue discussing the Future XF based in the C-XF - there are going to be too many differences ... and I would appreciate if you took this into consideration .. I know yo uarevery intelligent anf insightful ... take a second, take a deep breath and just think this over again ...

Re: Next gen. Jaguar S-type News: Teaser & Leaked photos of XF Concept

Well, I was led to believe it would be. If it won't, why did they waste time and risk their reputation? What Jag's got going for them is six decades of classic elegant style. Perhaps that's not exciting, but that's attractive.

It's like seeing a beautiful woman for a hundreth time is not that attractive as seeing a carnaged body (though I'd say revolting might be a better word than exciting), but I still believe seeing a beautiful woman is a better experience.

If you think Jag's poor reliability record is still bringing the brand down, abruptly changing styling won't fix it - building consistently better cars over a long period will.

Another version of the Ford Iosis/ Mondeo.

I would buy this over an S-type any day of the week. Jaguar needs to junk their old world design themes. This is a good first step, it resembles the Aston, but so what? How many Astons do you think you will see on the street?

Poor GM.. Jaguar just took Saab Aero X rear lights design from em

GM should learn to keep its designs under wraps until they are about to bring a design to market within months
