I guess that's a bit too close to the Citroen C5:

Now the headlights don't look that unique anymore, do they?

Or was it the Focus cabriocoupe?

While I like the C5 and I think Citroen did a good job of facelifting a stylistically-compromised vehicle, replacing one of the most handsome cars in the market with something that tries to copy a car whose styling is not seen as the strongest point... hmm...

Since the last generation, though, it seems like Renault cannot sort out their midsize estate. This one looks like the old Safrane Long Course concept met the Honda Avancier:

The rear end, albeit very nice, seems to draw on the BMW 1er and the Peugeot 407 SW:

I am not saying it is a bad car, it does look very nice, but I see far too many cues "borrowed" from many other models. That said, I do like Renault's new "grille-less" front end, first shown on the new Twingo, and of course the interor is really impressive, as became customary for Renault in the recent years.

Actually, those headlights are quite dissimilar, relying on curves opposite of each other. Thanks for the pics...I'd forgotten how great that Citroen looks!

The saloon is Mr Blobby with extra HP sauce and carrots - nasty nasty nasty nasty...

The estate, however, is lovely. Right colour for the press pics aswell - black.

So - hate the saloon, love the estate; though what's this? Renault influenced by a Jag?

I really do like the estate. Have I said that I like it? I do - the estate is really nice.

Bravada will probably tell you otherwise but I don't think the Laguna and Altima are in any way related at all.

according to poster on a Nissan forum i visit the new Laguna does share Nissan's D-platform, along with the Altima (and next Maxima, Murano, and Quest). the top pic in Bravada's post above does look like it could be a French version of the Altima sedan.

the exterior hasn't been improved at all, but maybe because there was nothing to improve as the previous Laguna looked nice.
As for the interior some French and Italian automakers hide cheapness of their interiors in a perfect way. They look only nice on pictures but suck in real life. Unfortunately some GM interiors as G6/old Malibu ones are as bad as they look on pictures.
Coming back to Renault products today I saw something much more interesting :

The picture was taken today at Renault Formula 1 Event in Warsaw Poland.

Quick question...what is that cool looking white station wagon at the bottom of the pictures posted?...I like the reverse slant of the D-pillar plus the well integrated tail lamps. I am very lame on European models. Thanks.

that's a Peugeot 407 SW Estate, doesn't look bad. It makes me wonder why all those stupid people love that stupid Toyleta Avensis.

Hmm, the sedan looks boring and is quite forgettable, however I'm quite fond of the estate.

I was getting a strong Citreon vibe from it, thanks for the comparison shots Bravada. And really even the interior gave me a BMW vibe, very "spartan" and very close to same design.
