    New BMW 3 series

Meet the must-have executive car that’s heading straight to the top of the sales charts. This sleek saloon is our best look yet at BMW’s all-new 3-Series, which is due
to make its debut in
the next 12 months.

Offering more efficient engines, smarter looks, a sharper driving experience and a larger model range than ever – including a Gran Turismo hatch – it’s the most desirable 3-Series yet.

what's not to love? so good.....so cutting edge with the surfacing, sharp lines, smart aggressive character......refined edges, yet sticking to great proportions [a classic euro trait]......a design that will build upon the success of the 7 redesign and help to erase the memory of the bland 5 and ugly GT....

You think so? I think it is overdesigned. Way too many lines. Crowded. Cluttered.

It's overstyled just like a Hyundai

However it will outperform a Hyundai so that makes up for it

Honestly the last good looking BMW was at least 10 years ago

Yes, I'm not fond of that front end. Who would have have thought a Volvo (S60) would have a prettier face than a BMW?

    Re: New BMW 3 series

The best of BMW design today and remains my favorite of the BMW models. Drives the best, has the most models to choose from and the coupe version is the best looking of all of the models for me. I am looking forward to seeing this in person at the NYIAS

IMHO the simplest of the 3 series as it was introduced in 2005 (without that silly twin dome on the dash and the fog lights tucked away to the far end or... left out) was the best-looking 3 series ever. But that's just me. Elegant lines, almost understated, yet charismatic.

Looks pretty much as expected, like a smaller 5 and 7. Better but hopefully the ATS will be able to surpass this.

I agree 100%. I think cars in general have become this way.

BMW started with the flared lines and everybody copied it. I like BMW styling myself. I love the flared lines and domed hood on the 3-series, the 2005 was a bit too plain IMO.

Nope, Alfa Romeo started the flared lines. BMW copied the idea, including the door handles situated on top of the shoulder line. Same with the little reflectors on the rear. Here is the Alfa 166 (1998).
