Mercedes-Benz Unveils Luxury Apartments in London

Mercedes unveils luxury apartments in London.

Mercedes and Frasers Hospitality Group have teamed up to create a series of luxury rental apartments.

Dubbed Mercedes-Benz Living @ Fraser, the first set of six apartments are set to open in London in November and each one is approximately 100 square meters (1,076 square feet) in size.

What they lack in space they make up in style as Mercedes designers selected the furniture, accessories, lights and colors of the apartments. These include an ‘S-shaped’ Swarovski crystal chandelier, a Burmester surround sound system and a sculptural ‘Black Magic Wall’ that is "reminiscent of the feature lines of a car."

According to Mercedes Head of Design Gorden Wagener, "All the appointments display the hallmarks of Mercedes design. The overarching concept unites flowing lines with sculptural furniture, blending seamlessly into an organic whole. Innovative media and entertainment technologies offer a multi-sensory experience.” He went on to say "The designers at Mercedes-Benz Style have succeeded in recreating the ambience and spaciousness of a Mercedes car in luxury serviced apartments. Their goal is to give the occupants a sense of Mercedes-Benz exclusivity.”

Luxury as a lifestyle - literally. Wise marketing.

Looks like I'm moving to London. 10/10 would live there.

    Exactly.

What I really like is that they incorporated some styling signatures from their current cars into the design of the apartments. Same with brand names and little touches, like the round Burmester speakers that are placed throughout the apartment.

Overall, I think this is absolutely brilliant. Nice job, Mercedes!

I'm surprised it's taken them this long, to tell yo the truth.
They're also not the only luxury brand to extend their reach into the luxury lifestyle market.

It all just continues to prove my point about luxury.

In related news, Cadillac has just released a mobile home that can be towed behind the Escalade...

Soon Mercedes will build jet-planes and helicopters with dedicated space for S-Class that could land on the roof of Mercedes showrooms while Cadillac won't still have any dealers or just the the low-rent Opel ones. Sad.

I wasn't around during Cadillac's last heyday, so this is the first time I've ever written the following words: The car to beat, the best car in its class, is a Cadillac. You're done playing offense, Cadillac. I hope you can learn how to play defense.

Reminds me of a picture I saw once... Daewoo laptop on a Daewoo TV on a Daewoo forklift beside a Daewoo car on a Daewoo freighter...

Those headboard lights look like the knobs Benz used for a long while, but like circa 2006 for like radio and climate control knobs. Everything from the Sprinter to an S class have them

There is something cheesy about this sort of 'luxury', I do not see myself feeling 'luxury' in this sort of environment.

It's cheeseball luxury for new money types, oil barons and Chinese factory owners.

And really, I can't blame them. That's where the growth is. It's a smart strategy.

Mercedes isn't the only luxury brand that partners with hotels to develop these "concept" hotels/apartments.
Ferragamo partners with a hotel group.
    There are Bvlgari hotels.

This isn't a new concept in the luxury lifestyle marketplace.

Just because you have money, doesn't mean you have taste. The decor is terrible.

I think it appeals to a certain clientele

    No doubt.
But I'm willing to bet Ferragamo, Bvlgari, and Mercedes know exactly who their demographic is; otherwise, they wouldn't have attempted these "brand extensions."
