    The fir$t cra$hed Bugatti Veyron.

    I really hope the owner ha$ a good and under$tanding in$urance.

We’ve seen plenty of smashed Ferrari Enzos but this is the first time we’ve across images of a wrecked Bugatti Veyron. Information is sketchy, but it’s thought that a pool of water on the road caused the AWD supercar to lose traction and then spin out of control, sending it head first into a ditch. Most of the cabin section and engine compartment look relatively undamaged, however, it’s hard to determine what internal damage to the drivetrain there is if any. Hopefully the driver got out unscathed.

According to the source, this is the first time a private customer has actually crashed a Veyron. Engineers reportedly destroyed two prototype examples during testing, which was part of the reason for the long delays during the vehicle’s development.

Thi$ i$ very painful to look at...

The monocoque of the Veyron has a torsional ridgity of 81000N/degree so the monocoque is extremely stiff and rigid, so this car probably didn't suffer any damage to the actual monocoque. Either way even though variouse car journos say the Veyron is as easy to drive as a VW Golf, it will still bite back when you have 1000hp plus, even if the car has 4WD.

One has to wonder how much insurance is on that thing, or an Enzo for that matter.

Wow...imagine parting that thing out down at the local junkyard. Maybe that W16 can be shoehorned into a Passat or a Golf.

That is bad to see it happen to a Veyron, but its not as bad as that one Enzo I say sometime ago. That Enzo was was literally ripped appart and unreaconizable, other than that, unless you got the insurance you may not want to drive an exotic.

If you can afford to buy it, you can afford to fix it.

A few weeks in the body shop, about $150,000 and all is well.

I'm thinking that if they use Chinese replacement parts they could drop that figure to around $5000.
It sounded pretty good until I actually said it.

Thats funny enuf to make you cry! But honestly the most expensive partr will probably be unseen drivetrain damage, heck it does have 4 turbos and 10 radiators! Not to mention the most sofisticated AWD system there is!

Well, at least one good thing is that this car was being driven instead of being someone's collection.

    It's not that bad.

I was expecting to see a Veyron in two pieces like Ferrari-style crashes.
