    BMW releases pricing for X5 M and X6 M.

We bet there are still thousands of BMW M fans out there reeling from the fact that the performance division is launching its first ever SUV model, and a turbocharged one at that. Those fans better get used to it fast as BMW has just revealed pricing for the new X5 M and X6 M SUVs, which will start at $85,400 and $88,900, respectively, when they go on sale in the U.S. in the second half of the year. Full pricing and options, as well as pre-order sales, will be available from next month onwards.

BMW admits that it would like to draw customers away from vehicles like the Mercedes Benz ML63 AMG and Porsche Cayenne, and in an effort to make its M SUVs more appealing has fitted the pair with standard 20in wheels, sports seats, red needle gauges, and Merino leather trim.

    Not bad at all.
I wonder where Range Rover Sport SC will slot??

Too bad Cadillac will never have a comparable vehicle in this class.
    Never never never.

BMW will sell literally dozens of these a year. You'll be lucky to ever even see one.

Truly pointless vehicles, especially the X6. A V-Series Escalade, if one existed, would make more sense then these things.

Yes. These vehicles make no sense. Yet, here they are.
They don't cost BMW all that much because X5 and X6 are on related platforms. And their interiors are shared. Not to mention the engines, which will end up in the M5.

Even if BMW sold dozens, they'd still make money off it because they effectively reuse parts and platforms. Both being based off the 5-series. And BMW sells hundreds of thousands of those.

I'm surprised at the price considering there is xDrive50is at those prices. I was expecting something like $100K or more.

The upcoming Grand Cherokee SRT8 could keep up for what, half the price?

They were doing some construction at my university earlier this year and one of the workers had an X6 parked by the constructions site, and it caught the attention of every passing student.

These don't really excite me all that much but I can't wait to see that engine in the next M5.
