BMW has announced US pricing and launch details for its 740e xDrive iPerformance, one of the first models to join the company's new sub-brand for electrified vehicles.

Already in production, the plug-in hybrid sedan will sell for $90,095 (including $995 freight) when it lands in US showrooms later this month. The price represents a $4,600 premium over the non-hybrid 740i xDrive, which matches the hybrid's 5.1-second zero-to-60 mph benchmark.

Drivers will be able to cruise in all-electric mode for up to 14 miles (EPA estimate) and speeds of up to 75 mph. The package boasts a combined fuel economy of 64 MPGe, however BMW has not yet announced its efficiency numbers for gasoline-only operation.

I guess we'll see just how good the CT6 Hybrid really is compared to this. It should be cheaper and hopefully the performance is comparable.

The BMW looks pretty cool. The effective HP about matches that of the TT6. The price for a decently equipped one will easily hit 90K... I was hoping for more E distance, but it beats the 550.
It'll be interesting to see what Caddy does.

    Good night and good luck.
