Bentley has unveiled a new styling package for the Flying Spur. But is it enough to make it look "more athletic"???

No wonder that angry designer lashed out at Lincoln and quit. VW forcing them to make vehicles like this would certainly take its toll on any sane person.

I am thoroughly ready for the next era of the Flying Spur. Despite the updates for the 2014, the entire car is aging and though the design itself hasn't grown old, the platform and interior sure have. It's bad when the much cheaper S-Class and (new) 7-Series don't really have what looks like a notably less lavish interior and on the road are probably about as good or better overall. More to the point, the Ghost soundly outdoes it as well, the closest thing to a direct rival that it has these days. Bentley has a respected name but that doesn't mean the product should rely on only that. All I can think of is that if you ignored the badge and compared it to VW Group's own A8, that says something.
Hopefully the new A8 that we should get in a couple of years quickly leads to a new Bentley version. And I think they should make it more of a driver's Bentley sedan whereas the Muslanne is more the chauffeur Bentley. Extensive use of aluminum and carbon fiber as displayed by BMW should nicely reduce weight, something that can be taken to greater lengths given this car's exorbitantly higher price tag than a "mere" 7-Series. All of this can contribute to the Bentley keeping more cylinders and power. I'm not talking about making this some kind of large sport sedan like a Panamera, but something more dynamic than most large sedans but with the comfort one would expect of a Bentley. That balance is part of Bentley's brand.
Anyway, give me an S65.
