That's great and all, but I'd rather have a TTV6. Less stress on the motor.

But, still an awesome feat of engineering.

At that HP & Torque level, the 3.0tt is a better option.

Yup. Plus, the engine doesn't sound like a blender.

Amazing! That's a huge amount of power from such a little engine! And I was and am amazed by the 272 out of mine.

Could it be that in 20 years a 2.0T will be the "big" engine with V8's and V6's all but gone?

Impressive power. Mercedes deserves a lot of credit.

OK, now stick another two cylinders on and give me a 3.0 straight six with 550hp and 550 ft-lb...

That's nothing. The Mitsubishi Evo FQ400 squeezed more many years ago.

It's not that they get a lot out of it, GM got 800hp out of the 2.0 Ecotec Turbo a decade ago, it's that they do so with an engine also expected to be frugal, clean and reliable in mundane service - all while do so and making a profit...

EVO did not have to make a profit, it was a marketing expense.

The Oldsmobile Aerotech was a concept car.

    My point exactly...

The further from being a regular ordinary production engine, the easier it is to make big power.

Go the opposite direction and the more of a challenge it becomes...

GM really could show up Audi and MB if they choose to with our Ecotec.
