2016 BMW 7 Series LWB Only

Like Mercedes, BMW will offer its flagship in LWB guise only in the US. That will likely cause the base price to climb to $80-$85K, giving it its proper flagship position above the 6GC. Makes you wonder if Audi and Jaguar will follow suit with their redesigns, and if so, will the market be open to the smaller CT6, or if Cadillac has missed the boat.

The latest news is that the U.S. will only be getting the long-wheelbase version of the car, but that it will be sold with just the “i” badge instead of the “Li” which usually denotes long-wheelbase versions.

I was wondering why they would offer it with Left Wheel Drive only.

Maybe there is a market for SWB full sized luxury sedans, maybe there isn't. We will find out soon enough.

    What do you think?

Cadillac bought a ticket for the wrong boat AND missed it. Pricing can still redeem CT6... sort of.

Cadillac management clearly is out of touch with luxury customers. The CT6 is nice, but they needed the CT7 now.

Along with the CT6 a four door coupe could really help fill this spot to go up against the CLS and 6 GC.

IMO that's what the CT6 should have been AFTER the CT7.

If CT6 were really supposed to be a CLS/A7/GC fighter, that'd be awesome, so long as it LOOKED the part. I hope it eventually turns into one.

Hate to beat on the CT6 but the materials look cheap and layout old compare to the 7 Series and the S Class. Cadillac needs to at least address these shortcoming before production begins. Otherwise sale will be like the current CTS - bad.
