Tim Hortons, Five Lincoln Guys and Me

This morning was pretty interesting. I stopped off at a Tim Hortons, only to find 4 new Lincoln MKCs in a row. Striking up a conversation with the 5 occupants (someone was riding shotgun) was fairly simple.
I mentioned that i was looking at the MKX to replace the 300, but wanted to see the Continental. They kind of cringed when i mentioned the X and i didn't push things. I mentioned needing size and having an MKT and how it drove funny. Noisier than you'd expect from a Lincoln.
Anyways, they said that the Continental will be "a lot of fun" and worth the wait. They also mentioned that Lincoln is still getting a few bugs worked out of it.

MKC team is jealous of the vastly superior MKX?

    For whom I wonder?

I didn't think they had time for a complete redesign.

Were they testing mules for the next generation MKC? As I understand Lincoln's development plans, they'll skip a refresh for the current MKC and go with an all-new vehicle on Ford's C3 platform.

Any small group is going to fervently defend their rides, so the MKC guys wouldn't want to wax on about the MKX. I wouldn't take that to mean much.

I thought Continental and Lincoln buyers were all about comfort, not fun?

I mean, they were all Lincoln guys. MKX vs MKC is a size and comfort issue more than it is one of superiority.

Oh I'd agree, but hey, there were groups that would debate the superiority of the Cavalier over the Sunfire... we love division and debate. I'm sure within the MKC Tom Hortons Club there will eventually be a division between those that got the base engine and those that got the uplevel engine. Big rift coming at the MKC-THC, I suspect... and don't even get them started on Black Label!

Tim Horton's in Michigan is like Dunkin' Donuts elsewhere; just about every decent sized town has one.

Okay... Those MKC vehicles looked as standard as i've seen.
The "bugs" that they mentioned are on the Lincoln. I should have asked him to elaborate.
These guys were not on a specific team. Like the last guy i saw at that Hortons with a right hand drive Mustang, the drive what they drive. These guys will be driving the Continental.
Why the odd look on the MKX? i'm not sure, but i'm going to go drive one just to see for myself.
