Rumor: New Bronco to have same axles as Jeep Wrangler?

If true, this could be pure, unadulterated awesomeness.

I sincerely hope they provide some of the "slab sided" styling features of the 1992-1996 model.

I am starting to get interested in the new Bronco.

Since GM does not seem interested in a GMC Jimmy competitor to the Bronco, I will look at the Bronco as an option.

Haven't heard that name in a long time! When I was in HS my Dad had an 81 Jimmy with big wheels and tires, dark gray, very cool looking truck! The thing had what had to be 18" long glasspacks and was loud as hell, but the 305 was a gutless wonder just like every other engine of that era. You could hear that thing coming a mile away, but had to wait a couple minutes for it to actually arrive!

Dana produces both solid and IFS versions of the AdvanTek axles.
Ford has only said it is using Dana AdvanTEK axles. It has not said whether they are solid or IFS.

Which axles? The Dana 30 front or the 44 front from the Rubicon?

Global Ranger and Everest already use Dana as a supplier, it doesn't follow that
Ford will choose SFA over IFS but it's too early to outright dismiss....

I hope it looks nothing like that and more like these R&T links.

GM doesn't have the balls to produce a true open top, SFA Wrangler competitor.

I would like to see roof panels either open by power or removable and stowable. Not the whole roof mind you, as that is a PITA, but rather sections. Soft tops are cool, but not great in cold climates.

Very excited also for the Bronco.

The Puma based I-4 and I-5 diesels are ending in the next year or so.
The 2.2 I-4 is being replaced by a new 2.0 I-4 Ecoblue diesel with same power/torque and better fuel economy.
The 3.2 I-5 is supposed to be replaced by the recently announced 3.0 V6 Diesel.

And if i was to guess on a gas engine for the Ranger/Everest/Bronco, my head says 2.0 EB or 2.3 EB
but my heart says 2.7 V6 EB.....

Yeah, all the Everest offers is the 3.2L, but a 3.0 could work too; assuming they have global potential.

I wouldn't want diesel, but people like the torque.
