New stunning Aston Martin Mondeo (US Fusion) sales up +55% in Europe

(Reuters) -- Ford Motor's European car sales rose 16 percent in June, benefiting from demand for the all-new Mondeo sedan.

Deliveries in Ford’s 20 European markets rose to 126,800, Ford of Europe said in a statement on Tuesday.

The automaker said growth was fueled by double-digit percentage gains in formerly austerity-strapped economies including Italy, Spain and Ireland.

The automaker said six-month sales for the midsize Mondeo jumped 55 percent.
Ford also said it has received more than 6,700 European orders for the Mustang sports car that will go on sale this summer.

Ford expects a sales boost from its new Mustang

Six-month European sales at the automaker rose 12 percent to 668,800.

It's amazing what adding little bit of American mojo/Aston Martin front-end styling will do for the sales number, gotta say l am very pleased the Ford Fusion is selling like hotcakes in Europe. Nice to see small SUV sales o a role as well GM must be loads of money on the Mokka SUV sales are up +65% in the first six month of 2015. Ford and GM Europe seem to be making a lot of money from its top of the range EU products. BMW 3 Series, VW Passat, Skoda Octavia & Superb OUCH! will all of been hurt by the arrival of the new Aston Martin Mondeo in Europe great news.

Great to see the Stang's European order book sitting at 6,700, its amazing what adding RHD will do to sales numbers in Europe, 2014 LHD only Chevrolet Camaro EU sales of just 932 full year EU sales, more Ford supply/logistics constraints problems coming to Mustang American production lines?

Glad to see Ford being rewarded, I really like their lineup. Increasing midsize sedan sales is no small feat these days, so kudos to Ford with their Fusion. And even if non-US Mustang sales aren't huge, with 6700 orders booked already, it's safe to say that global Mustang volume will be like adding an extra month to US Mustang sales, if not more!

Its say first deliveries due to arrive in first month, not for year like EU LHD Camaro numbers 932 sales , 6,700 LHD/RHD are booked just for Europe not GLOBAL like you state Paul. RHD UK is the biggest buyer of sports cars and convertible cars in the EU, but Brits wont buy LHD cars from anyone.

Yes true, so I think it's safe to expect that global non-US volume will be at least in the 10-12,000 unit range (hopefully much more), which is the current monthly rate of Mustang sales in the US. I can't see how it won't catch on all over the place!!!

I like the Stang more than I dig the new Camaro. Ford may be on a roll with a new Lincoln Continental and the Ford GT (to be introduced at next year's Le Mans) as cars that will give Ford a new aura.

Yes. Go Ford! This is very positive news. I love to hear things like this. Does anyone know what the market share of Ford and Opel currently is in Europe? I have heard that GM is doing very nice things over there as well

Nail right on the head. Focus ST/RS and Raptor being two glaring holes for GM IMO. I would bet that if/when the Ranger makes a come back that it gets a proper off road treatment as well. And probably before GM brings back the ZR2. SMH

VW Group covers a similar ground in Europe as GM cover's in the U.S. They are almost equal in China, swapping year to year.

I think that VW's being partially gov't owned and having more IG Metal influence also bolsters their sales.

Re: New stunning Aston Martin Mondeo (US Fusion) sales up +55% in Europe

The harsh truth is overall Ford is still struggling year to date more so than compared to the various GM divisions in the US and suspect with GM set to roll a far greater number of new models in the next 18th months compared to Ford the gap is only going to widen. FYI Chevy's Equinox when you add GMC Terrain are outselling the newly redesigned Escape despite those two models getting long in the product cycle--heck the Equinox was up 21% and if this continues will outsell the Escape by itself:

Well, let's not overegg the omelette. One month's sales do not a success make. The old model has been around - like, forever. So a brand new car the market is anticipating is obviously going to increase sales a great deal. But yes, it's a good result, even if like Top Gear said last program, Mondeo sales have sunk to less than 7000 in 2014, down from 30,000 in 2010. So the last update and especially changes like the Powershift and small engines haven't exactly set the house on fire. It's coming off a low base. 55% increase is still not back to 1/2 of the dizzying heights it achieved five years back. The Insignia outsold it last year, so it'd want to come back bigtime.

Moved this to the Ford discussion section, as OP didn't use the right format, didn't link to the article, and added his own commentary at the bottom.
