There something about Tesla's windscreens that make someone sitting inside look like a pompous imp
Pony trumps guppy.

Then as a buyer, who would in their right mind go with Tesla if the Ford retail network is available? Unless of course you must be seen sitting inside that thing...
It's the fishbowl phenomenon, the low cowl does that. It's great for visibility outside, but also inside. The Mustang's biggest advantage for me is the profile, it's not wedge-shaped like the Tesla and looks more like an traditional ICE car.
I actually prefer the Model Y design personally, for many reasons. The design is more honest, takes advantage of the EV architecture, more spacious, larger green house, flusher glass and smoother body details. There are no design cheats like the blacked out roof line and spoiler on the Mach E. The Mach E rear also looks odd compared to the Model Y, sunken and flat.
The Mustang has some tech and amenities that I would personally miss if I bought a Tesla, like Wireless CarPlay and a heated steering wheel. But there is other tech on Tesla's side of course.
At this moment I would still chose the Model Y anyway, Ford is very VERY inexperienced when it comes to much the tech they are trying to launch to take on Tesla. I honestly cringe at the thought of Ford OTA updates for example. This is a nice toe in the water, but it's still very early for them and I need to watch them for a few years to see how they do.

I like the Mustang exterior better, but the Tesla interior better. So somewhere between the two would be my ideal.

Design being equal, and assuming the performance and range are in the same ballpark, the charging network would still play a big win when comparing the two vehicles.
If I were in the market for an SUV and a car, it could be tempting (cute?) to have a Mustang GT and a Mustang Mach E!
I wish they all could be California squirrels!
