Lincoln Continental 75th Anniversary Model to Debut at Pebble Beach?

The 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will feature the following marques and special classes:

    •Ferrari
    •duPont
    •Pope
    •Designs by Carrozzeria Touring
    •Postwar Cunninghams
    •Mercury Customs
    •British Prewar Sports Cars
    •Lincoln Continental 75th Anniversary
    •Shelby GT350 Mustang 50th Anniversary

I don't know about you guys, but Pebble Beach seems like a great place to debut the new Continental! We have been seeing camo'ed Continentals for a few months now, so debuting it in a few weeks would be consistent with the test drive schedules. As for the actual description, it could mean a lot of things. It could simply be a display of Continentals from the beginning models to the concept, or maybe we will see the 2016 Continental fully unveiled. We could also see a production car unveiled with some kind of 75th Anniversary package. At any rate, it will definitely be something to watch!

I don't know that, but it could very well be. Given that a new Continental is going to debut soon, it may fit into the 75th Anniversary timeline. Why would Lincoln make a display about Continentals through the decades without the new one present?

Maybe it will be a show with a covered new Continental then they do a blah blah presentation on the storied history then voila New Continental! Or it could just be a few select Continental models and the concept. Who knows...

    don't fret, Sal

I'd have to look up the Mustang
    but
can say definitely off the top of my head that
A 75th Anniversary Lincoln does NOT exist
    since it hasn't happened yet
    so
it's the new Conti withOUT doubt

...the question is Will it be production or not?

    Deq,
maybe you could let Scott Evans know?

You don't show up and set up a display at Pebble Beach, you are invited.

The first Continental was sold as a MY 1940, that makes it 75 years old this year. Just sayin. Doesn't mean a reveal in any way necessarily.

Scott Evans commented on my MT post about it. Here is his answer:

Bascially, they will display old Continentals, but it could be a setup for a potential unveiling.

If it's a bunch of Continentals I bet they won't show anything newer than a 69.

Perhaps they should show some new Bentley's instead?

I was going to say... the 1980's and 1990's Continentals were very nice cars, for their time. We look badly on them, because they've passed into the hands of owners who neglect them, and keep them in very bad condition.

A matter of opinion. I don't think they were very nice, personally.

Oh I like the look of the first Taurus based Conti a lot actually I think it looks very classy, it looked the part to go up against Mercedes and the likes of their time. But Ford likes to pretend anything from 70-05 never happened with Lincoln except the Navigator in 98.

I could be wrong but I could have sworn you said a while ago you though the last gen Contis were nice for their time.
