Ford Mustang Now Germany's Best-Selling Sports Car

    LeftLaneNews
    4-8-16

The iconic American pony car first arrived in Germany last summer. Sales quickly accelerated, outpacing all other sports coupes in March, according to numbers published by the Federal Motor Transport Authority.

The company sold 780 units in the month, taking a narrow lead over several native favorites including the Porsche 911, Audi TT and Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe.

I can't wait for the inevitable "The Mustang only sells well because of fleets!" comments. Apparently there is a pent-up demand for a vehicle like the Mustang in international markets.

Germany is a LHD Market therefore Camaro will go there too and compete for Fleet sales

They'd better buy it! Ford created that ugly schnoz in order to pass Euro pedestrian crash regs.

Apparently American buyers don't think it's ugly.

780 in a month. That's an annual sales rate of over 9000 cars. In one European country (if one of the more promising markets). Not bad.

It's not a lot, but considering that it's in a country with many domestic sports cars, it is quite an impressive statistic. Maybe Germans like American cars more than we previously though.

In my experience Germans are not as concerned with country of origin as they are with quality and performance.

Wow, I'm not sure if you're serious or being facetious. Do people really suggest that about international Mustang sales?

I'm glad MURICA is slowly dominating.

    Hmmmm.... clever.

    Needs some checking.

Outside of class assigned - in order to match up to American sensibilities at the very least and then make fully sure.

Their very different classification system may be the key.

Still at least a good show plus no matter what else can be found that is relevant.

Does not however, include YTD - which is what you really need for the claim.

    Here is the class.

The Corvette now has respect in Europe. GM just needs to call it Opel Corvette over there.

Of course I was being sarcastic. Isn't that what the internet is for?
