Is Ford going to have a PUSHROD V8 (OHV)

This will be interesting if they actually use it for more than the F-150 and throw that compact lightweight beast in the Mustang to give it a ton of torque and finally a beefy non euro exhaust sound.

Oh please let all of the Team Ford OHC fanboys chime in now. Can't wait to hear them spin their way out of this. InCogNiToe where are you?
"The car's brilliant and ... a great surprise, pleasant surprise for all Corvette lovers everywhere ... a huge shock to our competitors ... because I don't think anybody was expecting something that good. What pleases me the most about it was that ... I can say this is the first car that's come out, that was done since I left.

Suspect to say the least. I have a hard to believing that Ford would abandon the years of research and investment in their OHC/DOHC technologies. I've researched the Ford 6.2L BOSS architecture quite thoroughly and I believe that engine has a lot of potential.

    I am here.

We were told that cost and packaging were Ford's major concerns when designing this engine. I would say that they'll tick both of those boxes by going from a SOHC V10 to a Pushrod V8.
Humm, I thought Torque and Sound were the benefits of Cam in Block.

But what ever, the 6.8L Modular, is due. 7. something has been rumored for some time, Coyote Based would make some sense, but
One other thing I asked about, because it has to come to mind when you're talking about an engine that displaces 7.3L, is whether or not this thing is a Big-Block or Small-Block?
Coyote might not support +7.0L's. The SD's chassis would, the V10 is huge, E Series are tight fits, but E Series days are also numbered.

I thought it was more fitting when his name was DOH! - because of things like this.

Next thing we'll hear about is Ford transitioning over to a modern independent suspension system instead of their archaic SFA.

The only reason I see for going to OHV would be for a more compact size. I don't see the need since this is for medium trucks and f-series. I expect it to be SOHC , maybe 3 valve.

Yes, but if 6.2L is the best, what will 7.3L be? Even Better?

All these jabs are pretty hilarious with GM now developing OHC V8 engines and putting an actual IRS into their luxury SUV. Jeebus you fanboys are a petty bunch!

Ford has watched Chevrolet eat their cake for too long. I do not blame em. There will be some patents they will pay Chevy for, but a small price to compete.

Or maybe GM switches to a SFA, so then they will be good, right?

    eating which lunch???

this is a HD GAS engine to "play with" GM's 6.0L and 6.2L and the "old" 6.7L V10

GM does have the 8.2L and there is the "PSI" 8.8L based off the 8.2L but is NOT a GM engine and is used in school buses and other "medium" duty commercial vehicles

ford is "better" at offering large high power engine options in there products them GM

That's exactly my point, actually. The trolls blast GM for these types of decisions all day long. "Old Technology!" "Not enough choices!" Then when Ford does it it's a genius move. Pretty hilarious, huh?

I personally don't give a crap what type of engine or suspension it is as long as it works well for what I need.
