Ford has detailed the Revel audio systems that will be featured in the all-new Lincoln MKX.

The automaker collaborated with Harman's high-end audio brand to create two systems for the MKX. Buyers will be able to choose from a 13-speaker package, or the ultimate 19-speaker Revel Ultima configuration.

Would like to see a different high-end system in Cadillac's instead of Bose. I'm not familiar with Revel but has anyone experienced their sound systems?

I'd really like to hear the system in action.

It will also be interesting to see how Niel Young's "Pono" is integrated into the Revel system in the new Continental.

I'd like to see Cadillac offer a high end brand also, but I am very interested in the CT6 30+ speaker system. Maybe it will prove that Bose can make a knock-your-socks-off stereo. But prestige-wise a higher end brand option would look good on paper.

Does Lincoln really think someone is going to buy a Lincoln over a German vehicle because of a stereo system?

I'm also curious to see what the graphic for the Pono logo will look like...

Of course not, but if you're having a tough time deciding between two vehicles and one has a superior audio system, it might be enough to tip the scales.

Lincoln knows no one would buy a Lincoln because of the sound system ONLY. But, the sound system is a selling point that Lincoln can build on with a smooth ride, nicely appointed interior, and high end options and technology. Lincoln grasps that concept, and the MKX is a clear example of that.

Having a class-leading sound system is part of making a high-quality product, and Lincoln wants buyers to see that.

I've heard the top grade version in the MkX...can't remember a vehicle with a better one. It's right on par if not better even the S-classes I've been in.

I don't know, but some people might buy the "Ultimate Driving Machine" because of the driving dynamics and may actually prefer the Cadillac that handles better. I think that scenario is much more likely than someone buying a car because of a stereo (though I'm sure it has happened).

PS, I misread the comment in the article, it was the author making the conjecture about the stereo, not a quote from a Lincoln representative.

I just purchase my first 'high end' home theater system. I ended up with a BOSE Cinemate 130. It was on the higher end of my price range, $1,700.00 all in with parts and some accessories, but Man, I tried a lot of systems and there was nothing in the under $2000.00 that could even come close.

Now, I would not describe myself as a luxury bling shopper, I just want something that actually does what its supposed to do and I am willing to lay some coin for it.

If there are systems that perform better than the Cinemate 130, I would have gotten them, so the stuff that is better, must be really great, because, there is only one word to describe my system.

    Epic.

I'm looking forward to seeing how well Lincoln appoints the Continental, stereo, etc. included.

The stuff that is better really is that great, but under $2000 you probably won't do better.
