    Build and Price-Lincoln Continental

Just did the B&P on the Continental. Not a smooth operation. Some of the packages have overlapping items. One high line package had the panorama sunroof. I selected that and went to another package that also had that as part of its deal. Odd. It seems like you would get credited for this. It happened a couple of times. There is a "Jade Grey" interior option. It looks pretty green to me. Kind of pea green. I didn't see the massage seats. It was no problem getting this thing to well over 65 thousand and i didn't pick all of the options. I'll drive one ASAP, but i gotta say that i think the CT6 is a better car.

For a while the B&P was only accessible via mobile now I see it on the desktop site and it's the old B&P style the current lineup has the new style weird it's even up if it's not working 100% right.

hmmm, wish they would only offer AWD. FWD will end up being the volume of sales and most likely disappoint

Those who would be disappointed by FWD aren't likely to shop Continental. This is an interesting vehicle from the perspective that it's going to cover a lot of ground, from relatively low content all the way to the Black Label 3.0T with torque vectoring AWD so people's reactions are going to be very interesting, especially those exposed to the full spectrum of what Continental is, and is not.

AWD is a prestige thing. If you want to show people that you are to be taken seriously, forget that fwd even exists as an option for this car

I wonder when a stretched version will show up. Probably FWD only.

Using a FWD platform; ends up as a competitive price advantage for many buyers in the Mid-West, can get by with FWD, but on a RWD, most want AWD.

So if I see someone in a Cadillac without an AWD badge, I look down on them when I'm in my AWD Lincoln? Sounds petty.

Does the RWD CT6 have a "RWD" badge? Does the FWD Continental have a "FWD" badge?

Lincoln isn't in a position to worry that much about prestige, they need to keep growing volume. The other issue IMO is that while the Continental is a huge step forward for Lincoln in many ways, I fully expect that as we begin seeing next generation Lincoln product built on D6 and S650, only then will we fully realize how much of a transitional vehicle it truly is.

Lincoln cannot, and should not abandon their traditional buyer base as their continued slow, steady growth means more for their reputation than would stagnant growth with more "exclusive" yet not truly competitive products. Just four years ago a Lincoln was just a Ford, not even really tarted up as they say, steady, gradual improvement is the correct business plan for Lincoln.
