It's a misprint. It was confirmed it was a mistake. Only RWD folks.

But, I'm going to say it...

The first to do it, either the Mustang or Camaro, is going to be a force. Not standard, but make it optional.

Exactly. Charge big bucks, who cares, but just be the first to do it.

I feel the same way for a 3-door wagon / Kammback thingy.

Meh. I can understand putting AWD accidentally, but writing out all-wheel drive you'd think someone would notice before posting the ad. It does pose the question though: can an AWD Mustang be done with the car's current platform?

    Purists can blow me.

I'm 100% in favor of a Camaro-branded family of vehicles or Camaro body variants beyond the convertible. A full hatch like a Focus or 1 series, maybe not, but a liftback or a Kammback or maybe like you said a 3 door (GTC-esque) would be awesome.

Also, if Impala is going RWD and merging with SS to differentiate from Malibu, I would not be opposed to a sedan; however, if Cadillac is doing a RWD sub-ATS (basically ATS redux), I would see significant overlap with the two considering the "GM buyer pool" and frankly the $25,000–$30,000 compact sedan market. I wouldn't bother with a Camaro sedan unless I could nail it down around ~$25,000. Would also consider restricting it to certain powertrains.

    AWD option before anything.

I wish I was able to get a picture but last weekend I was in Vermont and saw a Fox body 4X4 lifted with large tires that I would guess to be 32". it was not a Mustang but it's sister car 1980's Mercury Capri. nobody was around to talk to and it was in someone's yard so I did not trespass. I assume it was on a modified Bronco II drivetrain but if this is the case they would have to stretch it.

The Dodge Challenger have a AWD optionnal drivetrain, it's the first before the "Camarstang" (or "Mustmaro") but its size put it in a different league...

I'd say that he big decider has been feedback from Camaro and Mustang buyers.
While it soulds cool to have AWD, I don't think it really on the buyers' radar..

Sales of pony cars would go way up with AWD as they could be driven year round in the Snow Belt. Canuckia too

When did the Challenger get an AWD option?

I think he meant Charger. And you can't get it with the big engines.

    Bingo!!

They are niche vehicles here since nobody wants to drive a HiPo RWD in the snowbelt. However, they are fun as heck on a frozen lake (as long as the snow isn't too deep)!
