    Side Blind Zone Monitor

I have to replace the SBZ sensors in my 2013 Cruze. Can someone tell me if these are plug and play or if they need to be programmed / calibrated by a dealer before they are installed?

    Thx

Yes, it must be programmed after installing. Procedure
Disconnect the side object sensor electrical connector.
Release the locking retainer from the side object sensor bracket.
Program the side object sensor after replacement. Refer to Control Module References.

Im pretty sure these things are designed poorly and located in a terrible place which guarantees failure. I think there is a pending lawsuit against GM on this.

Anyhow Google around since I believe you should add some sealant around the sensor to keep dirt/grime from shorting it out.

I received a satisfaction campaign letter extending the warranty on the system sensors on my 2014 Impala 2LTZ (new body) - and the 2015’s were also included.

I wonder if one or more of the "tattle tales" that GM is encouraging came forth and went over to Ralph Nader's office?
