'97 GMC With New Flowmaster Exhaust

Hi - I just had a Flowmaster 50 Series Big Block exhaust kit installed on my '97 GMC (7.4L Big Block engine). In the 5 miles that I've driven since the install, I noticed a distinct hesitation when starting from a stop, which was never there before. Does anyone have any idea what might have caused this? Might it go away eventually? Any ideas? Also, am I going to need a heat shield (I don't tow or work the truck at all). By the way, the truck sounds awesome. Thanks for your time.
