    2.4L 4cyl help

    Hi guys.

I'm looking to see if anybody may know if they ever offered the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine that is in the 97 Grand Am GT without AC, or if anybody knows what length belt I would need to eliminate the AC.

The reason I ask is because my AC compressor is shot and the pulley is seized... I have somebody willing to buy the car as is, but they don't want to flat bed it. I figure if I can throw a belt on to take that pulley out of the mix I could drive the car to them. I asked the local parts store if they ever made a 4cyl Grand Am GT without AC but I was told they did not. I know they offered this engine in other cars over the years (Like the Z24, Alero, etc...). If anybody here knows and could help me out, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Even though it's NOT what I wanted to hear... any ideas on getting the pulley to at least spin freely again?

Thanks. I guess that's what I'll have to do. I didn't want to dump any more $ into this car, and I wanted it out of my driveway ASAP.

    Thanks again.
