Took her to Tehachapi this weekend.. Guys, the V6 3.0 is great for this, going up the mountains, you put it on cruise at M5, and it will whiz through those mountains effortlessly below 3000 RPM, I will not say the MPH, but traffic on the 14 is regularly between 70 and 80 MPH, passing, effortlessly.. and it was packed..

Its Rev Happy too... if you need it to go to 5000 RPM, it will and super quite cabin even at those speeds and winds in Mojave Desert.. like today on the 395 two lane, passing those trucks with ease, its awesome.. picks up speed like a car..

Every time I see a stragglers in their new RAV4, CR-V or Hyundai, I say to myself, man, ignorance is bliss, they have no idea how good we have it in here...

I got to say, I am very happy with this Chevrolet. I hope like the HHR it keep me very satisfied..

Yea, I love how 5th isn't an overdrive.

It's actually pretty fun to drive too.

Its actually a six speed, but when in manual mode, you can restrict shifting to which ever gear you prefer as the top gear, so if you are going up hill in stop and go traffic, you could put it at 3 as the top gear...

Would you consider trading it for a 2013 with the 3.6L V6?

I probably will get an enclave (2013) as a replacement for the HHR, and keep the Equinox for me. To tell you the truth, the 3.0 is excellent..... I do not know what people dislike it for....I just raced a first Gen X5 up a steep Carlsbad hill and Gen 5 X5 lost, I kept it at M4 and he let it to upshift only after we were out of the steep.. the BMW did not know what hit it..

he tried the rich guy BMW.. I am going to race up the hill better than you routine, he did not know I had it in manual...from the get go... and I could tell he was cocky because he started moving when the light was still red.. like he ... I was like.. dude wait until it turns green... we'll see... in his defense, mine is brand spanking new with direct injection, less than 6000 miles car... his is an old X5.. probably a base six model... used....

"I could tell he was cocky" because he was driving a BMW.
