    Sleeping Beauty Awakens

After 20+ years hibernating, my other half sent her to the "spa" for a birthday/survivor present. I got her back late October, so I didn't have a chance to take her out. This last winter/spring seemed to last forever, but we finally had some good weather last weekend. I took my baby for it's first ride and it seemed like "the good old days", almost as I remember her. I'n not a kid anymore, so no more reckless driving. She is a true survivor and people are finally beginning to appreciate her!

That is awesome! Congratulations from a fellow survivor owner!!
The incessant rain here is causing a huge number of events to be rained out.
    Hopefully you're having better luck.

I have another one Tuesday and it's going to be good weather for a change.

I have never taken it to a show. This Wednesday is an All Corvette show at the local Chevy dealer...the same one where I bought my car from! I am thinking of attending if the weather is good (20% chance of rain)!

    Go ahead and go.
I always like seeing the old ones, especially when it's had the same owner all this time.
Anyone can go buy a new car and go to a car show.

I largely avoid judged shows... participant judging is pretty much the biggest joke there is.
Everyone votes for their homies, the cars have little or nothing to do with it.
So, everyone in the club gets together and votes for other people in the club. That is the unwritten rule.

There are usually a few votes left over. I've learned to go over to people who aren't in a club and horse trade reciprocal votes.
Last show I was at a rare thing happened... a Merkur actually won a Top 50 award! Yippee!!!

That's what I've heard about the shows and why I hesitate. My car is not perfect, but I'm sure it's one of a handful of one-owner survivors, which should count for something...and it is returning "home" to the original dealer!

Eaton53...my car just had a wash & wax last week. I was thinking of getting Meguiars spray detailer. Any input would be appreciated!

Is this thing a cruise in or actual show where you pay 15 bucks?
Basically, I like to go to the ones that are free or you give five bucks to a charity and then you just walk around and chat.

Meguiars Quick Detailer.... It's liquid gold. Everyone uses the stuff. I have a couple spray bottles in the back myself.
I also have lots of microfiber towels, a duster and a waterblade to get most of the water off if it rains.

And of course, a 22 foot tall telescoping flagpole.

    Megapole.JPG

I am the easiest guy to find at any show that I attend.
