A few weeks ago I traded the 2500HD for a 2017 F-250 Platinum. So far, I've really enjoyed the new truck. I'm still learning a few things and how to access certain features on the DIC, but that's to be expected. The ride is good, though the front end may be a little firmer due to the solid axle setup. The fit and finish is very good throughout, the Platinum seating surfaces are very comfortable and the heat/cooled seats work well. There is a lot of storage inside the truck and plenty of USB plugs, 12v plugs and 2 120v plugs. The rear seats have good room and are also heated, which the kids have already enjoyed on one of the crisp mornings we've had so far. I like the under seat storage box for the rear seats that comes standard on the Platinum. The automatic steps and keyless entry are quite convenient, and the steps give the truck a cleaner look when they are tucked away. All the lighting on the truck is LED, exterior and interior. The headlights and fog lights are great. I did get the 6.2 gasoline engine this time, as I didn't feel the need to get a diesel again. I am very impressed with the power and responsiveness of this 379 Boss engine. I only have little over 500 miles on the truck, but am averaging 10.3 mpg in mostly short-trip driving. Plan on taking a few trips with it in the coming weeks and also puling the TT soon, so I should have a better idea of the fuel mileage.
All-in-all, I'm very pleased so far. I wanted to get a different truck, and the new F250 checked all the boxes this time. I still have the Tahoe and Sierra, so I'm not abandoning the General, just bought something else this time.
