    My "new" '03 Mounty!

I traded in my Limited earlier this week for this...

87k miles, AWD, 4.6L V8 (239 hp version). She doesn't have every option but is about in the middle as far as Mountaineers go. Talk about an upgrade from my '93. I'm selling my XL, FYI.

I searched autotrader.com for a Mounty or Explorer Limited within like 100 miles and in black (they look awesome in black), with an interior other than tan. AWD or 4 wheel drive was mandatory. I found this at Stockbridge Ford for like $5k under NADA. I also bought a 12k/12 month Ford powertrain warranty from them.

'89 Buick Reatta. 3800 SII L67/F40 six speed swap to be completed someday. Wife's: '07 Subaru Forester XT. World Rally Blue Mica.

    '87 BMW K75c. '87 Kawasaki 650SX. '85 Bayliner Capri 1952. '71 Chris Craft Coho 33'. '70? Amphicat 6x6 AATV.

Congratulations, I hope you enjoy lots of trouble free miles. You are going to have to laminate those paper floormats though, otherwise they'll never last.

    LOL!

Good for you, F-14! Hope you enjoy your ride. It looks pretty nice!! Let us know how it does after a couple months.

heh actually you'd see a 4 piece rubber mat set if I took a pic of the backseat. I put them in a few minutes later.

I prefer the Mountaineer's grill and little details over the Explorer. My younger brother thinks it looks more upscale than my mom's '05 Durango Limited. Gotta admit, the waterfall grill is pretty sweet, and I think the silver two tone enhances it.

I felt welcomed by the puddle lights fading on when I walked up and unlocked the door .

Sure I have to make payments now, and my insurance is $166/month instead of $40/month for my XL (which was still full coverage), but it doesn't look like a typical 19 year old's ride

I know it's been a week since you posted, buuuut...

I kept the paper floormats in my car for nearly 6 months before I got some rubber ones. They weren't even worn through yet; I just wanted the rubber mats.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

That's alright, I'm always at least a week behind everyone else so it worked out fine. Could it be because I read old newspapers in order to save money?

Glad you found a product that lasts a while, but isn't it ironic that disposable items last and permanent ones don't?
It sounded pretty good until I actually said it.
