Talking My 71 Monte Carlo all cleaned up :)

    Hey Guys and Gals

I decided to post some pics of my 71 Monte Carlo. I cleaned it up today on my day off. Got a fresh coat of Meguiars NXT 2.0 wax and took a buffer to it. Not bad for 10 year old Maaco paint huh? Let me know what you think.

Beautiful car. I had one myself. It started life w/ a 350/350 w/ 2bbl. w/out a vinyl top before I sunk way too much money into it. I wish I could find it today. I swear they're quite possibly the best car ever built.

Did they make one that shade of blue? It looks really good either way.

The original color was Ascot Blue which was like a sky blue. The car was painted before I bought it 8 years ago but to the best of my knowledge it was painted Deepwater Blue which was used in 1967 if I remember correctly on Camaros.

I was gonna say, I only remember seeing a really nasty blue back then (mine was beige so I certainly can't talk). Anyhow, that's a really good color for that car.

It's a shame there aren't more Monte Carlo fans here.

What a beauty! Good luck with your classic ride! I like the car, the color and the condition! GM could sure provide "character" to each model when they styled cars like the '71 Monte Carlo! The designers had more creativity and this was likely because the brands weren't trying to specifically copy another brand.

It is a factory bucket seat center console car with the original Blue Cloth Interior. Interior is mostly original. I put new carpet in it last fall. I have three build sheets for it as well. It has some rust up in the quarters but a good body man could take care of that. Do you guys think I should hold on to it? It was pretty much my first car that I bought 8 years ago. I have toyed with the idea of selling it but I really don't think I would get that much for it. What is a car like this worth in today's market? In a world of Chevelles and GTO's there is the forgotten personal muscle car, the Monte Carlo

I love that car! Can you take pics of the interior? How many miles on it?
Sharp if it runs good hang on to it.

Amazing how much the front of the 71 Monte looks like the 74 Holden

Ace looking car though. I would have not looked twice at one of these 20 years ago, but they have aged very gracefully.
