Good looking car. I have a Buick Muscle Car book that was printed in the mid to late 90s. There is decent write up in it about your generation of Rivieria. That is a lot of miles and years to still be going strong.

I doubt my desire to change out cars every few years will every let me get that many miles on a vehicle.

I bought her with about 125,000 on July 28th, 2008. I know the 3.8 is a strong engine, and will last, but I am never selling this car. Haha, it is mine forever. Plus I'm 18 and can't really afford two cars, I would love to have two cars, but alas, I'm broke.

Nice Riv...I always like that body style.
    145K is not too shabby....
I just hit 190K on my 2000 Park.
My 3.8L is still feeling strong.

I will suggest regular oil changes every 3K or 3 Months no matter what anyone says.
(You probably are doing this already...)
You can never over-do oil changes and in my book is key to keeping an engine running for years.

I have always really liked that generation of Riviera and its swoopy lines and long graceful rear overhang.

Oh yeah, regular 3,000 mile oil changes, we use 5,000 mile oil, but do this anyway. Looking into getting the Supercharger oil changed.

@John, this is my favorite style of Riv too, not just because I own one, but because it looks sexy at about any angle, and it is different every angle too. I like the Adriatic Blue on my car too, because it changes in the diiferent lights and angles.

Sweet car. Keep using same oil as you have been and follow your present schedule.

I took these pictures right after she got washed and waxed. They were for our two-year anniversary, lol.

    @JBsZ06

We always use the same oil, but soon here i might ease her into high mileage oil (mix it in with the regular until high mileage takes over).
    Thanks, she is my baby.

Looks really good. There is a Riviera here in Evansville that looks exactly like this. Good looking car for sure.

    Re: My 1996 Buick Riviera

My only suggestion is remove the front plate bracket, otherwise, it looks very well cared for.

Yeah, here in Indiana we don't need front plates, but I don't want to take it off and have two big holes in the bumper from where it was.

    Re: My 1996 Buick Riviera

I wouldn't sweat the front plate...but if you ever decide you want to take it off? I would imagine that some company must sell the plugs for the license plate drill spots.

I'd leave it on as well but I would shop around and see if I could find the plugs when and if time permits.

I went to great lengths to mount my front plate on both my vette and my caddy at a lower point than stock so it looks much more custom and I never have the holes drilled into the front facia.

Once its drilled....the plugs would be the only way to go. Certainly not necessary as your Rivera looks cool just as it is...

enjoy that vehicle. Really a show car for the street. Way out styling is very cool. And its good to see your enjoying it.

    Re: My 1996 Buick Riviera

I bought some interior trim plugs for our G6 when we moved from VA to PA. I got some factory touch up paint and popped them in. Much better than the ugly plate, and they can come right out should the next owner need to mount a front plate.

    Latest update...
I bought a 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport SE today. I bought it from my work, I need credit (I'm 18) and this was a good opportunity to get some. It only has 210,000 miles on it, but was almost completely overhauled before it was traded in.
