    Just got a 2002 Bonneville

Just purchased a 2002 Bonneville 2 weeks ago, I love the car, only one problem, sometimes when turning it sounds like a spring or strut bearing is binding and makes a spring type boing noise. Am I going into the right direction. I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem before. Thanks

Re: Just got a 2002 Bonneville

My Bonnie needed two power steering flushes done at the local car wash / oil change place before it stopped squealing. That's one of the few things that went wrong with my 2000 Bonnie, and it was more of an annoyance than a real problem.

What model is it? I think the steering is different in my SSEi (Magnasteer) than the base Bonneville.

I don't recall any "boing" noises.

This post was made so long ago, but if anyone else owns a '00-'05 Bonneville and is experiencing similar symptoms, more than likely the steering noise is coming from the INTERMEDIATE SHAFT. Very common problem in this generation of Bonneville ('00-'05). Not too costly to "lube" it, or replace the whole thing though (assuming you DIY or find a good repair shop other than the dealer).
