I have too much time on my hands.

So I've gotten to thinking about Subarus. I like them. They're cars, but more rugged looking (and they have wagon versions to boot). Considering the condition of the many farm roads (some dirt) that I go driving down when I feel like driving for the sake of driving, a Subaru would probably be a good choice in vehicle for me. But I'm not particularly inclined to trade in the Taurus (which I also like) at this point in time. Besides, the stock Taurus already has the ground clearance of a Subaru.

So I figured I'd Subaru-ize the Taurus. Then I realized that I didn't have the budget for a Yakima rack so I settled for this:

If you've looked at the rear windows of an older Forester or Outback you've probably seen a similar sticker, but with "All Wheel Drive" instead. Using my 1337 graphic design skills, I paid homage to (and by that I mean ripped off) the sticker, but changed the "All" to "Front" (and the A to F).

Actually, I was planning on getting a roof rack anyway (you can see my bike saddle poking up in back, it's on a trunk rack, I also carry cross country skis in winter) and a bug deflector or mini bra (those little farm roads have taken a toll on the hood). Being a green car with a brown interior and the ground clearance of an suv, it was gonna look like a Subaru anyway.

Maybe I'll get a rally pig sticker. Or perhaps I'll adorn the side of the car with a giant Subaru logo.
There's no apology for stupid, boy!

I'm curious to see what the rest of your car looks like now.
...why would you want to dress up your Taurus like a Subaru, anyway?

I never equated the looks of the Subarus with "rugged". The Taurus has more aggressive lines between the 2, so maybe you should have "Taurus-ized" the Bubaru.

Nah, I'll keep those. Though I did notice how similar the Ford and Subaru logos are.

It's that certain type of boredom where you are bored simply because you refuse to do any of that busy work that you should've done a while ago.

Right now it looks like a bone stock Taurus with a sticker in the back windows (and two fairly large dings in the hood).

The towel is there to keep the rack (which is named Outback, coincidentally) from scratching up the spoiler. On longer trips it shifts and will end up resting on it.

It needs brakes, and those come before mods that cost money (unless I were to invest in some completely unnecessary cross-drilled rotors and super expensive brake pads).

Might also get a trailer hitch first, as I may have a pop-up camper this summer.

The Outback has 8.7 inches of ground clearance.

You sure the Taurus does too?

Probably not. Though it's up there. Here's a pic of one that recently had the suspension replaced (the stock springs are weak and have a tendency to break)
