Help Me Pick Out a New Car!

Okay, so my lease is about to expire in a few months, and I'm in the market for a new car.

I originally wanted a Coupe of some sort, but it just isn't a practical buy for a small business owner. I also wanted something that rides smoother than my current ATS, because I just can't take being shaken and slammed to death on lovely Michigan roads for hours at a time any more.

I've pretty much settled on a CTS, but I don't know which trim level or engine to go for.

Between these two, which would you guys pick, and why?

    Option 1: 3.6L Luxury AWD

    Option 2: 2.0T Performance AWD

Is black the only available color? Or do you actually LIKE driving around in a tarted-up funeral car?

    Damm....that black CTS is sexy!

Personally, I'd go with the 3.6. 2.0T is a great engine in the ATS', but I think the V6 is a better choice in the larger car.

Glad to see you're staying in the Caddy fold, The CTS is a very impressive car.

As someone who has a 3.6 LGX, it's likely the best NA V6 available. Plus real world economy between the 3.6 and 2.0T are right on top of each other.

Yet....a coupe is an up class version of every single sedan out there.

Mercedes Jelly bean design is meh indeed. And there are people who complain here about CT6 design. If he wants M-B he should go for CLS. Nobody will tell him it's ugly.

    +1
LGX V6 is the way to go; it's designed to operate on 87 octane [(R+M)/2] unleaded gasoline (no need to use premium fuel), has less frequent maintenance intervals compared to the CTS' turbo engines, and doesn't cost much more than the 2.0T.

I don't know if GM has updated its 2.0T gasoline engine recently, but when I was in the market for a manual transmission sports sedan a few years back, the nonlinear power delivery and uninspiring soundtrack of the Cadillac ATS 2.0T I test drove convinced me to continue shopping (I ended up purchasing an F30 320i). If you want to get a turbo four, the engines from Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz are best.
