GMfan1111/454's folks pull the trigger and buy a new chevy equinox

Hi guys after a few weeks of waiting our folks finally have my moms brand new 2010 chevy equinox in our driveway. Her new ride is a 2LT 4 cylinder model with jet Black premium cloth seats and a few options such as remote start, pioneer sound system and back up camera. It is the fifth car in our all GM driveway so right now the driveway looks like a parking garage. 454 is away at MSU right now but I sent him a few picture texts and he liked it. anyway enjoy

Just a quick question about the Ecotec engine. Is there an airbox in the front passenger corner of the engine compartment? Is there an air filter in that box?

I have a 2.4 eco in my HHR (it's the older non-direct injection one) and it has the air filter in the base of the huge black engine cover. It's a pain to change the filter on that thing.
Research is what I am doing when I don't know what I am doing.

don't worry it isn't. Mom got sick of next door parking in front of the house so she has the leviathan (AKA the suburban) parked out in the street so they can't do that anymore

thanx fenwick my folks are really happy with it and our mom finally has a fuel efficient alternative to her gas guzzling suburban. The only thing thats kind of a bummer is that the keys take a huge bite out of your wallet if they need replacement (400 dollars yikes)

I wish they would jam that DI2.4 in some vehicles on this side of the pond. (ie. Cruze?)

Not really my cup of tea but it looks cool in the snow (no pun intended)

thanx mikmak, with the blitzkrieg of snow pummeling here lately our folks have not put the equinox through it's paces (It's a 2WD model) but hopefully I'll be able to get some drive time this weekend and write up a good review. I did get a small morsel of drive time today in it (moving it on and off the driveway to get my snow shoveling done) Anyway i'll save most of my opinions for when i get more formal drive time but for any future nox buyers out there the Rear Camera option is a MUSThave option. The visibility out the rear glass is terrible when backing up and the back up camera really helps compensate for that
