    Blazer gone...ehhh Hello Liberty?

In some strange way I was forced to part with my beloved 1995 S-10 Blazer and get a 2004 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4. I must say after sometime I have fallen for the little Jeep but it can't replace the love for my Blazer. Here are some pics of the new ride.

I can't seem to find what the Jeep looked like when I first got it but I did some little things to change it. The rims were originally the steelie silver rims. I didn't like them at all so I painted them a dark gray and left the center caps silver. I also changed the stock highway tires out for a slightly more aggressive and bigger tire. Lastly I added the front lights on the bumper. I plan on adding possibly a small lift to it and doing a upgrade to the sound system. Thanks for checking it out...

Looks good. I feel the same way about my truck now. I love it, but it's not the same as my Silverado. I miss that truck!!

    Two things to say...

    1) You're a very bad person exchanging a Chevrolet for a Jeep, but
    2) Congrats on the new ride!

Congrats. Hope it works out well for you for a long time. The Blazers had personality that I just don't think any other vehicle can quite match. I like my Colorado but it just isn't a Blazer!

This thread makes me want a 2-door Blazer from that generation.

At that time there was an off-road version of the S10... was it called Z-72? I remember seeing a picture of one jumping over a sand dune in a car magazine review... it looked too cool with its fender flares! It was my first dream truck. Did they ever do an equivalent Blazer?

Yes, they did make a ZR-2 Blazer. They were a 2-door variant of it. My bro-in-law had one and it had alot of problems, so he traded it for a Wrangler.

At least he didn't buy a Ford.

    Congrats on the Jeep!

I had 2 of the ZR2 Blazers. A 99 which I totaled on the highway and an 01. They were terrific vehicles. I used to catch crap from my buds for running the AC on the trails as I lead or followed their Wranglers all over the place.

In Australia, the Liberty name is owned by Subaru and is used on what is known everywhere else as the Legacy.

This is because the Australian war veterans support group is known as Legacy, and Subaru were very sensitive to the thought of a Japanese company 'abusing' something synonomous with Australia's war efforts.

So Jeep had to come up with a new name. After what must have been minutes of consideration, they decided on ....Cherokee...

In the US, Cherokee is what the Liberty replaced in the lineup. Most Cherokee (US) fans who actually used them off road would argue that one though.
