Looks good, I replaced mine with an aftermarket chrome bowtie.
What if you tried painting the horizontal bar black and getting a chrome bowtie? Just an idea.
The black bowtie looks good, and the idea of a black bar with a chrome bowtie sounds good...
Beauty! Blacking out the whole bar would be tricky, you would have to be very careful about matching the black of the truck and the bar, otherwise it would look cheap.
Black out the grille definitely, and then its perfect IMO. I love subtle tweaks like that to personalize your ride. I'm not a big fan of overthe top gaudy stuff.
My thoughts and random babblings...
Looks cool, the black bar would be pretty cool looking along with black out-grilles.

That looks nice.

What kind of paint did you use? I f'n hate the Gold bowtie on my Cobalt. I either want blue, since my dash lights are blue, or I would like a silver color.
You will laugh, but I used flat black spray paint with a clear coat spray paint.
I took it off and lightly roughed it up with 220 so the paint would stick. I made sure to clean it, and then not touch it with my bare hands. I put on lots of light coats of paint. I sanded it with 400, and then I used a clear coat spay paint.
I didn't put it on until if fully dried. The paint I used seven days. We see how chip resistant it is.
i would of laughed if you did not put a clear coat on it. Other than that this is likely what I will end up doing, I called several Chevy dealers and no one can get me a Bow-Tie that big in another color. I like the size of it, but Gold? They have got to back to Red and Black or straight blue.
There is a guy on ebay that will paint them for you.
Nice, It looks better than a gold bowtie.
The satin gold bowtie is the worst design element on any new chevy. Looks okay on the trucks.
