YouTube - RB25det Holden VL Berlina revving

I want to respray the car in the Aqua Subaru WRX color, and put the half pop-up light front end on (from a Holden VL Calais, which is the top model in terms of luxury, of my sort of car). So it will look somehting like this:

    Nice.

I remember a work colleague getting a turbo VL Calais in the mid 90's - it was a very sexy car.

Those wheels look good. I reckon the range of Holden and HSV wheels is so extensive that you don't need to look at aftermarket. I put the Statesman/Berlina/Calais International wheels on my wagon to make it look like a Berlina International.

leeme Americanize some of those stats for you.

    195 kw = 261 hp
    1290 kg = 2844 lbs

At that weight the 261 hp is none too shabby. Very nice.

    Americanisms added

And yeah, well, the R33 Skyline GTST is meant to do 0-60mph in about 6.2 seconds I think.
This has the same engine, but is lighter.

Yeah that was when we first went to unleaded fuel in 1986, they didn't want to go to the expense of re-engineering the old Holden 6 (baby brother to the old Chevy in-line 6's) so they used the local version of the Nissan RB engine, the RB30. It was a much more refined engine than the Holden 6 and made the VL a very nice car for it's time. Only lasted a couple of years until they went with the Buick based V6 in the new VN series.

Don't fret, it's still a Berlina, just not an International. I miss out on leather and a nicer interior.

Mine - Berry Red (and brother in laws supercharged Calais)

Berlina International - Turbine Grey only
