Question Why Every Automaker Around the World is Planning or Teaming Against Tesla?

Tesla is on the hit list of all big Automakers, Now another largest Automaker is targeting the Tesla’s battery production capacity but this time it is not the German but American GM (General Motors) that is teaming up with Korean Giant LG to Build Battery production plant in Ohio by doing 2.3$ billion investment.

Someone everyone has to find a place to get batteries from. You could either buy them or partner with a supplier, … buying them means tying capital to the infrastructure.
Its not like Ze Germans will be given a pass by the markets to tie capital for years on projects that may or may not make money, therefore unlike Tesla, they have to be careful how they invest in new powertrains.

every car maker has an engine plant OR teamed up with a supplier for engines and this is the same for EV cars
if you do NOT control your supply chain then your supplier controls you

My recollection was that Elon Musk wanted other carmakers to embrace EVs and accelerate change.

I recall that is also why Tesla patents are available to anybody to use / look at

I also believe Elon stated to the effect "he would be happy to have Tesla fail as long as it was because the competition made better electric cars

Elon saw an opportunity and grabbed it. He was out to make a lot of money, and thanks goodness he succeeded. The rest is just marketing speak.
