    My review: 2011 MX-5 Miata

You pass a sign warning of miles of twisty road ahead. It's a lovely spring day in a rural section of northern Virginia that winds between swaths of suburbia. You're behind the wheel of a 2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata, top down. The white Accord sedan pulls to the shoulder, waves for you to pass. It's time to drive...

Always been a driver's car, still a bargain for the money IMO.

    Timing belt or chain?

I was amazed at how low you sit in the new ones when I saw one. A blast I'm sure. And nice looking in that color.

Least the 6th gear made highway RPM's better. My buddy's '90 Miata was going like 3700 @ 70 mph...not idea for I-696 dashes

You're right, 696 requires at least 6700 rpm in a Miata.

I love roadsters. This is the spiritual succesor to cars like the MGB (I had two of them). Not fast, but a blast to drive. Of course my current Z3 is very similar but has a torquey 3liter inline six that gets to 60 in under six seconds and blasts down the highway. Fun to have a little roadster with some power. The new Z4 is a totally different type of car.
