These too cars look centuries apart. Brilliant comparison.
The iPod white center console looks great. Quite nice how they dont have buttons cut out. makes it look uncluttered and a pleasure to look at. The screen looks clear and easy to read. Good job on this one GM.

Yeah, the whole underbody is covered with plastic panels that presumably reduce wind resistance.

    2. rear visibility?
Straight back is not great but not terrible, on par with the Prius. Over the shoulder is bad, and some of the other drivers complained about the a-pillars being too thick -- a common concern among the latest GMs.

    Thanks.

I was trying to get more photos of it in traffic, but standing on a street corner in the rain waiting for it to go past every few minutes just didn't hold enormous appeal after a few attempts, and most traffic on the university campus is pedestrian anyway.

    Into and not over? Unfortunate.

Thanks for the pics and info guys, you're so lucky to have gotten to experience the Volt like that! Sounds like a great event... the proof that this kind of marketing reaches intended customers is that Buick61 is truly considering buying a Volt.

Seating positon could help/hinder that--the a-pillars. Just out of curiosity, about how tall are you?

I wish they had gone with a bench seat instead of bucket seats in the back... even if it's just two seats, the bucket seats just look wrong to me.

The battery pack takes up the center seating position.

Yeah I know that, I'm just saying, I wish the rear seats were connected. It would serve to close off the rear cargo area so your stuff doesn't come spilling out between the two seats every time you hit the brakes.

Regarding the 963 mpg: Probably because the gas engine hasn't started. Hard to get MPG when you aren't using gas....

I didn't know that the back was open. That makes the reports of the Volt being quiet that much more impressive....

I'm about 5'11. I didn't have a major problem with the A-pillars myself, but a couple of women who were driving complained.

It's not that it's high, it's that both of our drives/rides came up with the same 963 figure.

That's too cool you guys got to check out the Volt first hand. I am very envious.

The Volt is a car I am SERIOUSLY interested in. I just cannot get over the side window treatment.

I will admit that I am tired today and not thinking a 100% clearly but couldn't Buick61 have ridden in the same car you drove?
