The last time a V8 was in a Monte Carlo was 1988. The most powerfull motor you could get in one in 96 was the 3.4 DOHC V6 with 215hp. Now you can get the 3.8SC with 240hp.

    Yep .

The MCs always had V8s, at least available, 1970-1988.

1978 was the first year the MC featured an available V6.

2006 features the return of a V8, but without RWD.

well all i know is that, my brother was talking to this girl or what ever, anyway she was telling him that the shop where she as getting a tune up told her to go get to more spark plugs because she had a v8. I know that this is not a lot of info but by this weekend I will get the whole story.

Moss also transplanted a 4.9 Cadillac V-8(pushrod) and 4T80-E into a FWD Monte. It was slow...too.

Everyone else got to the V-8 data first. '70-'88 and 2006-

Nah, it was in Hot Rod or Car Craft, maybe Chevy High Performance, several years ago. I think it went on the power tour. It was red. Not to be confused with the Green Monte that Moss dropped the LT1 into...and then some.

I can dig through the archive, but without a scanner, I can only give you a month/year and page. Seriously, it wasn't that spectacular.

No, that's a differnet one I totally forgot about. This was a 4.9 Caddy motor. It was in the previous Monte body style...you know the lumina 2-door...
I'm off to the start the search.
